Education consultancy CfBT Education Trust has named Steve Munby (pictured) as its new chief executive.
Munby is currently chief executive of the National College for School Leadership, where he has been since 2005.
He will succeed Neil McIntosh in November, who will stand down at the charity’s annual general meeting. McIntosh has been with the charity since 1990.
Philip Graf, chair of CfBT’s trustees, said: “Steve is a well-known and highly respected educationalist with a wealth of experience in leading and improving large organisations. He is a significant contributor to and commentator on education policy and professional practice and we are delighted to appoint him as CEO.”
Education secretary Michael Gove said: “Steve has been an excellent public servant, and I am very grateful to him for the inspiring way he has led the National College over recent years. His commitment to improving school leadership has had a hugely positive impact on the lives of many children and young people across the country. I wish him all the best in his new role in CfBT.”
