US: caseNEX and Longleaf merge

Education technology companies caseNEX and Longleaf Solutions have merged, after being acquired by private equity firm LLR Partners.

Both companies focus on student data analytics in the K-12 space.

Longleaf’s technology aggregates student, teacher and operations data onto one dashboard.

Its flagship product BaselineEdge was launched in 2012 and brings together performance and demographics data. According to the company, BaselineEdge is used by over 1,800 schools across the US.

caseNEX products, which operate in over 50 states, track and visualise test scores to assess new student needs and address performance gaps.

Michael Williamson, founder and chief executive of Longleaf Solutions, will become chief executive of the merged business.

Williamson said: “Bringing caseNEX, Longleaf and LLR Partners together marries some of the best talent, industry expertise and technology with the capital to grow. Collectively, we can provide unprecedented insight for teachers and school district administrators to identify student performance differences and enable personalised instruction.”
