Babington Business College has acquired work-based learning provider Training for Today for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition has been funded by Babington’s owners, private equity firm Bridges Ventures.
Babington provides government and privately funded apprenticeships in such areas as accountancy, customer service and financial advice. It operates from seven different centres across the East Midlands. This acquisition extends its reach into the north west of England.
Garret Turley, partner at Bridges Ventures, said the acquisition “complements and enriches Babington’s offering and geographical reach”.
Bridges Ventures acquired Babington in 2009. The training company was Bridges’ third investment in the education sector, following School Stickers and New Career Skills.
Training for Today employs over 70 members of staff operating from three sites in Bolton, Atherton and Prestwich.
