US-based nursery giant Bright Horizons has announced its acquisition of smaller rival Casterbridge Nurseries.
EducationInvestor understands the deal to be priced at almost £70 million. The transaction closed last week.
Casterbridge owns 27 nurseries, largely in the south east of England.
Bright Horizons is backed by private equity Bain Capital. It now manages more than 700 nurseries worldwide, and around 160 nurseries in the UK, making it one of the country’s largest nursery chains.
