TSL Education teams up with US teaching union

A UK schools recruitment portal is teaming up with a US teaching union to launch a free online portal for US teachers.

The site, Share My Lesson, will allow teachers to share resources and lesson plans. It’ll be a joint project between TES Connect, an arm of TSL Education, and the American Federation for Teachers (AFT).

The two organisations have committed $10 million (£6.4 million) between them to develop and maintain the site.

In a statement, TSL said it expected to have more than 200,000 resources available and 100,000 US teachers registered when the site is officially launched at the AFT convention in Detroit next month.

Share My Site will allow users to upload and rate resources, and will categorise them by grade level, subject and type of resource.

It’ll also featured content provided by partners including Sesame Street, Oxfam, Green TV and Encyclopaedia Britannica. And it’ll offer teachers guidance on how to meet new the US’ new teaching standards.
