Capita SIMS to launch in India

Capita SIMS is to launch its management information system in India, EducationInvestor can reveal.

The group has already established an office in Bangalore with a staff of nine. “We have spoken to many schools who have shown a great deal of interest, including some fairly prestigious schools,” said Capita Education’s business development director Paul Manning.

“There are around 200,000 private schools in India so it’s a big market.”

Capita SIMS provides its management information system to around 22,000 schools, and holds an 80% share of the UK market.

But it recently lost out to RM Education in the race to become preferred supplier to Oxfordshire County Council’s schools.
