The London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) is teaming up with a premier league football club, to launch a new sports programme.
The collaboration will see LSBF and Liverpool Football Club offer courses in sports management and leadership, through their new ELITES (Education and Learning Initiative Training Entrepreneurs in Sport) joint venture. LSBF’s academic staff will teach theory, while Liverpool’s coaches will offer practical tips.
The two partners have said they plan to take the programme “across the world” after the first course goes ahead in Liverpool this summer.
“Football develops many transferable skills, including team work, leadership and management through change,” said Billy Hogan, Liverpool FC’s chief commercial officer. “The management and leadership course offers participants the chance to enhance these skills using football as a tool to learn.”
So far this year, LSBF has already launched a new summer business school programme and established a publishing arm. The group also unveiled a new range of online courses, to be delivered on the e-learning platform InterActive.
