Educational publisher Granada Learning has acquired W3 Insights, a provider of psychometric attitude measurements for schools.
The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.
In a statement, Granada said that the acquisition would enhance the firm’s assessment and school self-evaluation offering. Granada Learning managing director Adrian Eaglestone said: “The additional measurements will help teachers gain a deeper insight into their pupils’ attitudes to learning and identify issues that might hinder a child’s progress in school.
“Attitudinal measurement will be a natural complement to our popular Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT), which is used to assess children’s reasoning capabilities, and so will help broaden teachers’ understanding of their pupils.”
He added that W3 Insights has “an excellent reputation in the education sector and deservedly so.”
This is Granada’s second acquisition in three months.
In April it acquired school survey company Kirkland Rowell for an undisclosed sum.
