Australia’s largest real estate investment trust Charter Hall Social Infrastructure is selling its remaining 20 early childhood education and care (ECEC) centres in New Zealand for NZ$40.1 million (£21.2 million) in a deal that will mark its exit from the country, The Sector has reported.
The centres are all tenanted by Best Start, New Zealand’s largest ECEC provider. The deal is expected to finalise next June.
In April, Charter Hall sold 26 New Zealand childcare properties for $NZ36.9 million. The REIT has a portfolio of around 350 ECEC centres in Australia.
