J&T Finance Group has become a 23% minority shareholder in JK Education, made through JTFG Fund I SICAV, whose investors are J&T Arch Investments and J&T Bank.

Prague-based JK Education operates the American Academy network of primary and secondary schools in Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Zagreb, the American Academy Online primary and secondary school, Pražské humanitní gymnasium, and a network of educational agencies and educational fairs focused on facilitating studies at international high schools and universities.

JK Education’s owner Ondřej Kania said: “The entry of such a strong partner as J&T is proof that over the last nine years we have built a group of high-quality and very attractive educational projects for parents and students. At the same time, it is a clear confirmation that the group is moving in the right direction and that the area in which we operate has a significant perspective. We believe that the opportunity to draw on the know-how of such an important group as J&T will help us in the development of our existing projects as well as in the identification and especially the implementation of new opportunities.”

Adam Tomis, investment director of J&T Finance Group and a member of the investment committee of J&T Arch Investments, said: “Ondřej Kania is a prototype of a young entrepreneur who returned with a clear vision after studying abroad. Today, he heads a dynamic educational group with an international reach. The growing demand for quality education, the growth and results of JK Education group so far and the scalability of its business model were the main reasons for entering a completely new segment for us. In addition to financial attractiveness, we have become part of a project that is shaping the future leaders of our company.”
