Childcare provider Busy Bees has acquired Park Academy Childcare, comprising eight creches in south Dublin and north Wicklow, The Irish Times has reported.

Park Academy Childcare was established in 1995 and cares for up to 700 children aged between three months and five years of age, along with after-school care for children aged up to 12.

Busy Bees Ireland chief executive Siobhan Moore said: “We’re looking forward to building on the teams’ successes, while continuing to provide exceptional care for young children in the local area.”

Busy Bees owns 650 childcare setting globally and cares for more than 55,000 children in the UK, Ireland, Jersey, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Australia, North America and Italy.

The company was founded in 1983 entered the Irish market in 2019 when it acquired the Giraffe chain of 21 creches.
