Payroll and HR software company IRIS Software Group, which is consolidating ed tech businesses, has acquired Dataplan, an outsourced payroll, pension and HR services firm catering to the education, healthcare, hospitality, retail and charity sectors.

In education, Dataplan partners more than 900 schools, which use its Vera product to manage tasks including payroll, HR and pensions.

IRIS’s recent expansion includes acquisitions of payroll companies APS Global and PayPlus, and school management information system iSAMS. IRIS claims more than 12,000 UK schools and academies use its products, with four million parents and guardians using IRIS apps to connect with their children’s school, and 300 million messages delivered between schools and parents annually.
