One of the UK’s largest nursery operators has acquired a group of five settings, expanding its footprint ahead of an auction process slated to launch in the coming months.

Kids Planet has purchased Learning Curve Nursery Group (LCNG), comprising five nurseries and out-of-school clubs in Lytham St Anne’s and Blackpool, for an undisclosed sum.

EducationInvestor Global exclusively revealed Kids Planet’s plans to explore a sale that could fetch £200 million.

The takeover of LCNG will lift the total number of sites owned by Kids Planet, which is backed by Business Growth Fund (BGF), to 65.

Clare Roberts, chief executive, Kids Planet, said: “We’re thrilled to bring Learning Curve into the group. We’re very much looking forward to working with their teams and providing them with the support they need to continue delivering the best possible care for children and parents in the area.”

Kids Planet was launched in 2008 by Roberts and her father, John Hoban. It is currently the UK’s third-largest nursery chain.
