Palo Alto, California-based private equity firm Symphony Technology Group (STG) has acquired Warpwire, an educational video management company in Durham, North Carolina.

Warpwire provides a video delivery platform that hosts media content for educational institutions and enterprises.

STG stated it is building a software platform offering continuing education, professional development, events, learning and content management solutions to associations, healthcare and life sciences organisations, hospitals, and universities globally. Warpwire is the company’s third investment in this platform following the acquisitions of CadmiumCD and EthosCE earlier this year.

William Chisholm, co-founder and managing partner of STG, said: “The acquisitions of EthosCE, CadmiumCD, and now Warpwire, are the continuation of STG’s vision of a unified technology platform for professional education.”

Warpwire co-founder and chief operating officer Andrew Synowiez added: “We’re impressed with STG’s research in this product space, and vision to join and strengthen like-minded teams. As we align with EthosCE and CadmiumCD, Warpwire is energised to continue creating compelling media solutions for our shared client base.”
